Stone Dragons have a tough outer covering made of a stone-like material. They eat rocks, using the minerals they contain for nourishment and to keep up their stone outer shell. They rarely move, and are the heaviest of all types of dragons. Although they have wings, indicating flight ability, no one has ever seen a stone dragon flying.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Makeriv is often mistaken for being 'a little slow in the head' as he takes a long time to.. well, do anything really. However, beneath his stony head his brain is usually working hard to weigh the pros and cons of his actions. Thus, anytime Makeriv speaks or moves there is a good chance he knows precisely what he is doing. Of course, every dragon has a weakness and Makeriv's is hatchlings. The first time BarkingPup brought an egg into the cave, he largely ignored it but once it hatched and the tiny vine stared up at him with bright eyes... well, Makeriv fell in love. The stone hoards the eggs and hatchlings away from his destructive sister, BloodBone (red) and cares for each and every one. Once they get past the cute stage, however, he couldn't care less and shoos them away to the main cave.
