Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Irah is a very beautiful but conceited vamp that has little regard for any of her clan mates, not even for her sister Xavianra. She mostly spends her night grooming herself and making her presence noticed by intentionally starting up fights with other females and strutting her stuff for the males. She is loathed or fairly disliked by most of her clan because she lacks respect and doesn't seem to do much but steal the eggs of feeding hatchlings instead of hunting for her own. She had left the clan on several occasions but just kept coming back after having little to no dragons to present her beautiful self to. Its a wonder that she hasn't been permanently kicked out by the irate leader, her respectable and loved sister may be a key factor for Irahs tolerance in the clan.
