Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Fenerous is a small blue-white hatchling with a dark blue crest and wings. His eyes are dark blue. Fenerous is a tenacious little hatchling who delights in playing with the other hatchlings. His closest friend is Tigrisa, the frozen fall hatchling. The two are inseparable and are often found bounding about outside the cave. Fenerous is very kind and eager to please, often going out of his way to make others happy. Fenerous takes joy in the happiness he gives to others and is always eager to be helpful. He is very popular among the other hatchlings and enjoys this feeling of belonging. His favorite activity is reading; however, when there is snow outside, Fenerous loves to frolic in the snow with the other hatchlings. He displays remarkable maturity for his age and, although frozen, likes to be considered an adult dragon. However, Fenerous can also lose his temper and will not hesitate to fight to defend his honor, even against dragons much larger than him.
