Water Walkers are small dragons that are frequently found around bogs and ponds. While they are flightless, they retain the flight sacs and hollow bones of their airborne cousins. These traits, coupled with their extraordinarily long, webbed toes, allow them to stand on top of calm waters, using their small sails to propel them wherever they please. They spend the majority of their lives on the water, retreating to the tops of lily pads when the waters become too rough to float atop.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Skittern is a very skittish dragon. He was once very outgoing and no one knows what happened to make him grow up into the timid dragon they know today. The story is much stranger than anyone would think.

Exhausted from being a jerk most of the day, teenaged Skittern rested by a pond. He sat in comfortable silence until a tiny voice interrupted him. "Excuse me good sir, but I do believe you are stepping on one of my legs." said a minuscule water strider, who was indeed being stepped on. Startled, Skittern jumped up, not believing his ears. After a long conversation, he and the water strider soon became close friends. They spent the rest of the insect's short life together, Skittern protecting the bug and the bug teaching Skittern lessons in humility and kindness. After his friend died, Skittern seemed to lose all confidence. Though he is a large dragon, he runs away from all fights unless he is protecting the many descendants of his long-dead little buddy.
