Avatars of Destruction possess a volatile disposition. They thrive on chaos and decay, and their horns and plated scales are as hard as forged metal. Because of their affinity with darkness and the destructive forces of nature, it was once thought that these dragons were omens of ill fortune.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Being the first Avatar in the clan, Xenokiri considers himself to be the most powerful and important dragon in the cave. In fact, he even tried to overthrow the leaders of the clan (the eldest dragons), however failed due to the overwhelming support that the elder dragons received from others. Xenokiri was enraged by this loss, and his rage burnt many villages to the ground. He then returned, the destruction fueling his power, and managed to form his own separate clan out of a few dragons in the clan. They did not join him voluntarily, though—many thought of him as a tyrant, and not a dragon they wanted to lead them. But Xenokiri kept them below him through fear—selecting those he thought might rebel for horrific punishments, destroying things to demonstrate his power, and sometimes even killing some in his clan at random. The elder dragons of the original clan seek to destroy him, but he has become too strong for them alone to fight. They await the day his power can be rivaled.
