Cheese Dragons are not actually alive. They are enchanted items of food that act almost identically to dragons. They have no need to eat, but they must “live” in humid environments or they will dry out and harden.

No one knows where Kanrost came from. A yellow egg suddenly was found at the entrance of the cave one night. Some of the dragons said it was food, but the human in charge of the clan decided to try to raise it, despite the protest of some dragons. Soon enough, a hatchling was born. Even when it smelled like cheese and no one knew its gender, it grew up to be a cheerful, active adult, so the human told the other dragons not to even think about eating it. Since then, Kanrost became part of the clan, although it still has to be wary about young hatchlings and misbehaved adults waking up hungry in the middle of the night.
