Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Brightly colored and hard to miss, Quelling Zan is a fearful dragon. She knows that many weaker breeds of dragons need to hide to stay alive, and she views herself as no exception, never taking notice of how people are happier when around her. She has often tried to pluck out her feathers and bury her head, tail, and remnants of wings in the snow to hide herself. Unfortunately, this often doesn't work out and she is pushed away by a Winter dragon taking possession of the territory. Zan is easily the most relaxed during the winter, though that's not saying much. She thinks that people do not hunt her during the winter because of her white scales and how they make it harder for people to see her before she can run away. This is not true, as anyone can see her bright colors, even if her body itself blends in, and her strange donkey-like wails of terror alert anyone to her presence. In other seasons she merely tries to hide at the top of trees, alert and wary.
