Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Lara Jean Chorostecki was raised first by Bryan Fuller and then Caroline Dhavernas. Maw Vong helped take care of her on very rare occasions and she found herself confused by his presence. It was only after learning about the god Euthion that Lara realized why Maw's presence was so confusing, he was not a Vampire Dragon. The breed her clan believed blessed above all other breeds by Euthion.

When her wings grew in she was tasked, by Bryan, to bring an egg back to the clan. On her journey she learned that information was a valuable currency and that all those marked by Jashypoo as hers couldn't kill each other. Lara had encountered Jashypoo on her travel and was marked, though at the time the young dragoness didn't realize this.

Lara Jean Chorostecki is a Spreader in the Followers of Euthion clan. She is also the head of an information gathering group in the clan.
