Harvest Dragons are a large, flightless breed most often found in heavily forested mountains. Normally shy, these omnivorous dragons keep to themselves in remote regions, but in the fall they descend from their high territory to search for food—and lots of it. During the autumn months, harvest dragons will eat whatever they can find, from large and small animals to nuts and fruit. In the winter they retreat into large caves and hibernate until spring, living off the fat they have built up.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Kiniro Ohayou Dew means Golden Morning Dew. Kiniro woke to the beautiful morning light shining on her golden skin. She arose from her nest of red, yellow, and orange colored leaves that Akikese, her mate, had made for her. Akikise himself was laying next to her, breathing in silent snores. Her eyes drew to a large pumpkin beside her nest. It was charred and has the scent of Akikise's Autumn breath was on it. Warmth spread through Kiniro's body. Without hesitating, she bent down to enjoy the breakfast Akikise had made for her. She left half of it for Akikise to have when he woke. She also left a mouse she had caught for him although she did not eat meat, she wanted her mate's diet to stay balanced. She licked his wings then lay next to him and felt his warm body against hers.
