Sweetlings are a small, flightless breed of dragon. They are omnivores who favor sweet fruits and honey, and have been known to go to great lengths to obtain their favorite treats. Their long, prehensile tails allow them to grab onto branches and give them superior balance. Sweetlings are expressive dragons and have a large array of calls to communicate with others. They become very vocal during breeding season and sing long, beautiful melodies to attract a mate. Inquisitive in nature, Sweetlings are known to investigate anything that piques their interest, and are quick to flee if the object of their curiosity strikes back.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Sour Candy may be an absolute terror to any nearby villages, but amongst the dragons in the area he is particularly spurned.

It is not that he is bitter, dastardly or even the slightest bit rude—he does, however, have a penchant for pulling pranks that has gotten others in very serious trouble. His cunning plans are meticulously elaborate, sometimes taking weeks to enact, but always ending up with someone other than himself looking quite silly and worse for wear. Whenever Sour Candy is spotted in a particularly bouncy mood, other dragons tend to leave as hastily as possible; he is always found at the scene of the crime, giggling like the mischievous imp he is.

As is to be expected, he is enormously popular among the hatchlings, not only because he is such an experienced joker, but also because he is small enough to join in on their games, which he usually does with relish. This is the only time the adults will trust him around them at all—he wouldn't dream of picking on the young.
