Guardian Dragons have large shields on the end of their tails. Although the shields appear to be heavy, they are light, yet nearly unbreakable. Guardian Dragons use their tail-shields, as well as their wings, to deflect attacks and protect others. Often, they will guard the eggs and hatchlings of a nest while others are away. They are generally peaceful, and will not retaliate unless necessary. They have no need to forage or hunt, as they are fed by those they protect.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Varick is...unique. His egg (for whatever reason) ended up in Germany, where it hatched and he was raised. Though his location shouldn't have affected it, he acquired a German accent in his telepathy. He has retained that trait, and will likely still be confusing his peers for years to come.

As for temperament, Varrik is very easygoing and relaxed. He enjoys a bit of alcohol now and again (he acquired an unusual taste for the stuff during his stay in Germany), and on occasion imbibes just a little too much. He's actually a very energetic drunk, and bounds about rather recklessly whilst crooning (and telepathically singing) German bar songs.

As a guardian dragon, it is in Varrik's nature to protect. This is ultimately satisfied in his relationship his mate, Solera. In contrast to his smooth, relaxed temperament, his mate is fiery, prone to anger, and rash. He is her counterpoint, her opposite.
