Albino Dragons are so named because their translucent, scale-less skin lacks all pigment. Instead, to help protect their bodies from the sun, they are coated in an oily secretion that blocks the sun’s harmful rays. The call of an albino dragon is similar to a barn owl--a shriek instead of a roar.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

From the time she was a young hatchling, Thelsala was always making up stories, and trying to tell them to anyone halfway willing to listen.  However, as the only albino in the community (her father having left before she hatched), she was shunned for her odd appearance, and only occasionally found an audience for her stories among visiting dragons.  When Thelsala grew up, she found herself barred from the community but reluctant to leave the only home she'd ever known.

Years later, when Wren Heartglow chanced upon Thelsala, she was telling stories to a cave wall for lack of a willing audience.  Wren, unable to bear the sight of a dragon in distress and recognizing Thelsala's potential as a hatchling entertainer, invited her back to Dragonhaven Island.  Thelsala agreed, and now has a willing audience for her stories.  To her delight, she even has hatchlings (and the occasional adult) following her around in hopes of hearing the next installment of one of her ongoing tales.
