Daydream Dragons are the hosts of daydreams and fantasies. They spend the majority of their time sitting on clouds, dropping daydreams down into the minds of people passing by. Humans who live near Daydream Dragons must be especially careful not to let their thoughts wander, or they could end up spending hours or even days in a trance-like waking dream state.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

There are certain events in a dragon's life that just prove she has to get it together. When Tewged had caught the fish, she had meant to eat it, she honestly had, but it was just after she had caught it that she remembered having had fish yesterday, but more importantly, the day before that! It's not like she can eat the same thing three days in a row. Clearly that isn't happening. But if she doesn't eat it now, it'll go bad and then no one will be able to eat it and the fish would have died for naught! Tewged shifts her gaze to the fish, hoping it's dead, thoughtless eyes may provide pertinent insight on her situation... but it's gone! That can't be. She just caught it! Or maybe that was the fish she caught two days ago... No, that wasn't right, it was right there! She had felt it in her grasp! Surely that was too vivid to be a daydream... or maybe it was. For the sake of her own sanity, Tewged provides herself with the benefit of the doubt.
