Turpentine Dragons are named for the oil that covers their scales. This oil resembles turpentine in odor and is mildly toxic; it will not kill but it burns to the touch and will cause illness in anyone who ingests it. Turpentine Dragons roam in large packs, often stealing food from larger dragons, though they are able to hunt for themselves if necessary. Many other breeds consider Turpentine Dragons to be pests, so they primarily breed among themselves.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Life is usually awful for this dragon. They call her Buruna, but others of her kind call her Secret. They once knew her pain; she's useless to others. Because she's unneeded her life is miserable. No one ever teases or yells at her, but no one cares for her except for her own kind... and even they don't 'need' her. To be unneeded... it is a great burden for her. There is always someone in the Cave that is better at something than her; she is not the best at anything. She's not the worst either, so no one bothers helping her get better.

Yet her friends are so kind to her when she's around that she doesn't feel she can tell them how awful she feels, how complicated her thoughts have become. She learned to live with this, and everything was fine... until one day her best Turpentine friend admitted her deepest guilt. Turned out her friend was extremely selfish and had no feelings against this. Her story is long, but because of this the overly-sensitive Secret became Secretly Psychotic.
