Green Dragons are also sometimes called “earth” dragons. They usually live deep within caves, and have power over the earth. They are capable of launching boulders at high speeds, and can cause earthquakes by slamming down onto the ground.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Gempa was named for the Indonesian word for "earthquake". He's somewhat of a crotchety old man, and loves his solitude. He spends a lot of time sleeping, and the rest of his time yelling at the Hatchlings to get out of his cave! His reputation as a "scary old Dragon" has made some of the bolder Hatchlings to play games around his home, daring each other to sneak into his cave, or to see how close they can get to Gempa while he's sleeping. Lucky for them, he's mostly bark and little bite!
