Skywing Dragons spend most of their lives flying in the air. They hunt from the air, diving at prey from above, and land only to rest. They are some of the fastest fliers, capable of extremely high speeds. The webbing at the end of the tail acts as a rudder, allowing them to easily change direction during flight.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Horus, as the son of a Skywing, has never even seen much of the land.  He learned to fly almost as soon as he was born; but in fact shares none of his father's competitiveness.  His time is spent lazily riding the warm thermals and mapping everything out that he sees from above.  The only thing about him that really stands out is the fact that he has a rather deep dislike for the Storm dragons; mostly for their attitude towards any dragon who would question and try to compete for their title as masters of the sky.  He has respect for his grandfather, Greypatch, but would much rather stay away from his sons Cloud and Heaven; Cloud especially, who has given Horus no end of grief in the past.
