Frostbite Dragons first appear at the beginning of winter, creeping in with the frosts. They have found their place in human lore as the spirits of snow, since they only reveal themselves during icy weather. In the depths of winter, they cover the world in blankets of snow and are believed to be responsible for the glittering frost that creeps over everything. Although they appear cold and distant, they are actually rather mischievous and enjoy spending time dancing through blizzards.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Elsa is a collector of gems. She finds them to be beautiful and stunning like the ice and snow, but gems are very special to her because they can never melt away. Elsa's favorite gemstones are sapphires and diamonds. The sapphires remind her of the ice that freezes over the mountain lake every winter, and the diamonds remind her of the frost that covers every tree branch in the forest. The gems gleam and glitter just like winter.

Having made her home in a small mountain cave, Elsa can easily hide her precious collection. Ever since a smaller dragon went running off with one of her gems, she's never really been trusting of anyone. Although Elsa does have a few select friends, she has never once invited them to her home.
