Cheese Dragons are not actually alive. They are enchanted items of food that act almost identically to dragons. They have no need to eat, but they must “live” in humid environments or they will dry out and harden.

Ahh! The Big Cheese! Who wouldn't want to get to know him... Sadly, for the residents of Lagie's caves, this is impossible as the Big Cheese lives in some far-off region in someone else's caves. Lagie's dragons have to contend daily with The Biggest Cheesiest. The Biggest Cheesiest swaggers around the caves, sure that he's the ultimate fount of knowledge, the source of all great wisdom, the biggest, the cheesiest, the best!

In actuality, The Biggest Cheesiest is the smallest of Lagie's cheese dragons, and, sadly, his cheese is one of the smelliest so dragons try to avoid him at all costs. Some days, after pontificating to the backs of retreating dragons, The Biggest Cheesiest goes home to his small cave off to the side and, in the dark, late at night, thinks to himself, "I'm lonely."
