Green Dragons are also sometimes called “earth” dragons. They usually live deep within caves, and have power over the earth. They are capable of launching boulders at high speeds, and can cause earthquakes by slamming down onto the ground.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Lazarus is part of the 'Lake' line of dragons, raised by Rigel Lake. She is a first-generation Lake, which means she was one of the four who were actually nurtured by him. Incidentally, she's the first dragon Rigel ever laid his hands on. Lazarus has sanguine-coloured eyes, and is fond of roaring loudly. Her somewhat violent ways mean she's been assigned as the protector of the Lake hatchery, a job she suits well. She exercises every day by hefting large boulders and then cracking them into small pieces just by slashing them with her claws. With those smaller pieces, which are about the size of a small computer screen, she plays a primitive form of 'volleyball' with the little ones every so often, using her tail to flip them back to the dragon whelps. Her tail is often coated by a slight layer of dust and other grimes because of that, but none in the Lake hatchery care of it.
