Water Walkers are small dragons that are frequently found around bogs and ponds. While they are flightless, they retain the flight sacs and hollow bones of their airborne cousins. These traits, coupled with their extraordinarily long, webbed toes, allow them to stand on top of calm waters, using their small sails to propel them wherever they please. They spend the majority of their lives on the water, retreating to the tops of lily pads when the waters become too rough to float atop.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Herr der Meereskusten had a stormy past—his egg was stolen from his mother's nest, the thief carrying him far from his birthplace, across the sea. He was abandoned, but picked up by a curious girl. Many were the troubles she went through for this egg—at first not even realizing what amazing creature's heart weakly pulsed life from beneath the blue shell -, hiding him from her family once he had hatched. However, time did what it does best, it passed; he grew and she could no longer keep him, risking to be found. They shared a tearful goodbye...

Years passed and the clumsy hatchling, now a graceful adult, returned to the place where he had grown up, only to find it abandoned... A hundred days and as many nights he wept, before he decided that, in honour of the kind girl who had saved him, he was to settle there and raise a family.

Nowadays, der Meereskusten still lives in the swamps that once were his master's beautiful pond, his offspring reigning as the der Meereskusten dynasty.
