Skywing Dragons spend most of their lives flying in the air. They hunt from the air, diving at prey from above, and land only to rest. They are some of the fastest fliers, capable of extremely high speeds. The webbing at the end of the tail acts as a rudder, allowing them to easily change direction during flight.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

A rather quiet dragon, Beauty of the Ocean Mists is first and foremost a Skywing Dragon. He has quite outgrown his aquatic youth and prefers to rely on his friends to assist him in landing to rest and taking off. He is relatively reserved but can be quite playful at times. Other dragons describe him as being well-mannered as well as having a good sense of humor. He is quite starstruck by other flying dragons who share his commitment to and enjoyment of being airborne. One of his favorite females is Majesty of the Serpent, and he often leaves on long trips to visit their children. This couple can often be found playing dizzily high in the air, admiring each other's aerial prowess. While he prefers the company of dragons, this dragon is on good terms with most humans, and he especially enjoys flying alongside hang gliders and parasailers. He has once eaten from the hand of a staff member who was parachuting, a rare treat for both staff and dragons.
