Feisty and energetic, Whiptail Dragons pride themselves on their speed and agility. It is not unusual to see several whiptails racing each other. Though fragile, they can easily evade attacks with their superior speed, and often use their long tails as a weapon, giving rise to their name.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Vetinari loves lurking in the shadows and observing. Many dragons consider him as gentle and harmless as his uncle Pe Ell is. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Vetinari is highly intelligent and uses what he learns to his advantage. And if anyone gets in his way he can strike fast enough out of the shadows that no one sees him coming until it is too late.
