Aria dragons are a brightly-colored and sprightly breed, perhaps most adored for their lyric calls. Their song-like melodies fill the areas they inhabit; their coos resemble those of birds, only more elegant and refined. They have fairly strong magical capabilities, but tend to reserve these strengths for last-minute defense, choosing to live their lives in simple peace. Arias, sticking to the tropics, typically live quite far from human settlements, giving rise to the previously held belief that they had gone extinct.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Whimsy's Soul has a distant memory of a time when she had a different name. She has a recurring vision of it being recorded upon a tattered scroll, too faded to decipher. Upon talking to the other dragons on Whimsy's scroll as well as whimsy themselves, they also don't recall what exactly this name was. However, her current name serves as a namesake to whimsy's own, indicating how important she is to whimsy and to the rest of the scroll. A decade ago, prior to dedicating their life to raising dragons, whimsy had a hobby of raising other animals, ranging from Cheeky Monkeys, to Velvety Elephants. One day, whimsy encountered one of the most beautiful creatures of all—a pink dragon called the Whimsy Dragon. From that point on, whimsy became enamoured with dragons, taking on the Whimsy Dragon's name as their own. Therefore Whimsy's Soul, as a bright pink Aria dragon that resembled the Whimsy Dragon, was renamed as a reminder of whimsy's past.
