Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Ever since it hatched, it has been hiding among the tree leaves.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

TropicalLizard is too old to be a prepubescent Neotropical Dragon hatchling. She was frozen by a spell, keeping her from ever growing up. TropicalLizard is over 5000 years old. She's small, but feisty and with a wicked sense of humor. She is treated like an adult in her cave, because she is mature and intelligent. She doesn't really like to be around hatchlings, says it is because they are small and stupid but it is really because she looks like one of them and she absolutely hates being mistaken for a child. TropicalLizard has been know to attack other dragons because of it, though not in the last 1000 years.
