Guardian Dragons have large shields on the end of their tails. Although the shields appear to be heavy, they are light, yet nearly unbreakable. Guardian Dragons use their tail-shields, as well as their wings, to deflect attacks and protect others. Often, they will guard the eggs and hatchlings of a nest while others are away. They are generally peaceful, and will not retaliate unless necessary. They have no need to forage or hunt, as they are fed by those they protect.
Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.
User Description
Fakaln is an honorable, powerful, and wise guardian dragon. He came as an egg into his cave, found from wild dragons, not born of the house of Celeton, and as a result was originally an outsider to the guardians of the cave. He has since married Celeton's daughter, Nacilina, and linked himself to the greatest family of guardians within his cave.
Fakaln is a powerful fighter and a vigilant defender, raised to the life of a sentinel. He is able to watch for two days without sleep, and his scales and shielding magic make him almost invulnerable to the assaults of wild animals or smaller dragons. He is very adept with shielding spells, and can magically detect nearby life. This leads to his pastime of meditating in a forest, where he surrounds himself with small beings and immerses himself in the flow of nature.
Fakaln is, while guarding the cave, a cool and well-guarded dragon, but off of duty he melts into a kind and personable being, happy with conversation.
