Holiday dragons are a very mysterious breed. They are only seen during winter, and even then it is hard to catch a glimpse of one. They are responsible for the general cheer that spreads during the holidays. In essence, they are the “Spirits of Winter.”

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

When Luminita barely hit adulthood, she was timid and doubtful that her orb could give people hope like other dragons of her age because her light, unlike the others', did not shine as brightly. She hid out in a cave isolated from the other dragons during the day of the longest night, unsure of herself. At that night, an adventurer emerged from the depths of the cave, and with a joyful tone, thanked Luminita for her light that led him out. She then realized that her light, too, can give people hope and headed out to join her friends. These days, on the day of longest night, the orb on her head gives a frail, yet heartwarming light in the sky that illuminates the darkened hearts of people during the cold, wintry nights.
