Paper Dragons are not truly living creatures. They are pieces of parchment enchanted by magic, and as such, are very vulnerable to fire. However, they behave almost like dragons. The only place where their behavior differs is breeding: paper dragons cannot breed.

Shironeri has an appreciation for simple things. Its favorite things to do are grooming itself, looking at prettily-arranged food, and sitting still for a long time while watching living beings move around. For these reasons, Shironeri is often invited to parties held by humans of the ruling classes. It serves as an ambassador for the younger children of the nobles, to hopefully get them to be more comfortable around the real dragons they will be negotiating treaties and trade agreements with when they're old enough to enter the royal court. In the meantime, Shiro gets to see all sorts of beautifully-plated foodstuffs and interesting people to watch.
