Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Chaos Wind and his two friends are the result of a bit of hatchling magic gone awry. The young magi attempted to cast a stasis spell on a pretty flower for Rippleselppir, and wound up locking the three of them in stasis instead. Chaos Wind was so named because his magic was influenced by his Skywing parent. He has control over the winds, and when he is angry, terrible storms visit the cave. Fortunately, the elder Fog and Magi dragons can control them.
