Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s clear that night is its favourite time.

And look! It has grown wings and turned red on its back! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Luno lived a normal life. Until one day, he didn't grow when he was supposed to. His mother took him to the clan medic. The medic said he had a spell cast on him, making him never grow. He would be alright, but never be able to breed or adapt the appearance of an adult dragon. He was named Luno, because Luno was unnamed at the time. Now Luno almost acts like a normal adult dragon.
