Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It has bright blue eyes, and is as clumsy as any other hatchling, but it never seems to get injured.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

This little critter is one of the most valuable, and the most fragile dragon on this scroll. Briyana was a sick little baby all during her hatchling stage. Her mother, Arynia was afraid she would die after all and kept by her side at all time. Against all odds, Briyana grew her wings, but she remained vulnerable. Her father, Bryghia, saw this and decided he would freeze this stage for her. He also did not want his daughter to die. He kept her small so the whole scroll could protect her and let her live a peaceful life among her family members.
