Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. As soon as it hatched it headed to the sea.

And look! It lost its fins and grew wings instead. It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Halva loves to travel alongside humans on their ships. This way he can reach places his small size wouldn't allow him to travel to otherwise. He has taken a special liking to a group of seafaring, strong men with beards that have adopted him as a mascot. Every village they visit is overjoyed to see their ship coming as is clearly shown by their screams of joy and the fact that they light up large fires to celebrate their honoured visitors. Halva is lucky to have found such nice and beloved people to take care of him.
