Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It gives off a glow that lights up the cave.

Look, it’s grown frills, and the glow around it has become even brighter.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Kolohe, like all of the tribe's silver dragons, lives on the island of Molehu. He received his name like all silvers; his actions, looks, and personality were inspected by the elders and then summed up in a word in Hawaiian. His name means "rascal". Kolohe was always in the way and pulling pranks on other dragons. He loved dying scales, honeying-and-feathering his parents, and the rest of the tribe was fair game for all of his other tricks. After decades of his pranking, Kolohe finally felt the call of maturity and decided to give up his tricks, but not without going out with a bang. His last trick was played on a magi dragon and the angry magi froze Kolohe in retribution for the prank. Frozen just hours before he would have grown into his adult body, Kolohe ran away in shame and sadness, never to be seen  again. The elders believe Kolohe or his spirit still lives around the camp though, because every once in a great while an incredibly cruel trick will be played on someone.
