Royal Blue dragons are a nocturnal breed who prefer to live high in the mountains near slow-moving water that reflects the night sky. Although quite capable of defending themselves, they are peaceful by nature and will avoid a fight whenever possible.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Moonlight Shadow hates waste of life and senseless romantic gestures. So when he witnessed a young human male getting into some stupid, honourable duel to the death over some female and "true love", MS swooped in to save the fool's life. The human wasn't very grateful though when he carried him away and demanded to be brought back. Had he shown a bit more common sense MS might have brought him back eventually but with things as they were he decided that the hairless ape and his potential mate were far better off separated by a river or two and several hundred leagues.
