Arcana Dragons are a rarely-encountered breed of dragon known for both their magical abilities, and their quirky, hardworking nature. These dragons have specialized organs for storing mana, and can produce varying effects from these reserves simply through instinct. However, they are also very intelligent dragons, and when raised around mages, or others of their own kind, almost invariably become obsessed with the study of magic. Arcanae are diligent in their efforts to discover as many uses for magic as possible, and while they will openly treat others to the fruits of their labor—especially others who share their interests—they will also use their knowledge and abilities to trick any creature that thinks it can take advantage of them.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Adatrix loves her job in Feruye's colosseum. She laughs upon Lauhada, the lesser arcana always begging to be let within the grounds. Mimicking Lauhada's insult to the pathetic dull duo, Adatrix mocks, "Your studies of these ruins are as fruitless as this land!" Lauhada considers Adatrix destructive, as she is Feruye's chief renovator for the repurposed ruins. She draws new designs and enchants the stones in any way Feruye needs, rolling in the mana he has hoarded, making her the envy of all the arcanas in the dry, resource-deprived wasteland. While so far the tournaments have been unbound one-on-ones, Adatrix is developing various metal collars, wing bindings, and the like that store spells. A dragon can exchange some agility or flight in favor of a certain number of offensive spells or enchantments. These will add new strategy and spice to the tournament battles, while simultaneously giving Adatrix an ever-present magical project.
