Failed attempts to experiment with magic often result in transforming dragons into these hellish creatures. They are extremely dangerous, and will mindlessly kill any living creature without regard to friend or foe.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Ibera Smiut was once a vampire lord of the Smiut bloodline. He controlled a vast territory rich in prey. One night he was challenged by the powerful vampire lord Von ShadowFang for control over the territory. Ibera was killed during the fight but his children managed to take his body and retreat to the desert. The Smiut family was so devastated by Ibera's death, they tried to reanimate him. At first they thought that they succeeded when Ibera's wounds started to heal, until his body began to decay faster. Eventually the decay stopped and Ibera opened his eyes to reveal glowing red orbs. By the time the Smiut family realized their mistake, it was too late. Ibera became a zombie and began his undead rampage. He lost all memory of his precious family. All he saw before him was food, and he was very hungry. That night Ibera wasn't the only one that died, the Smiut bloodline died with him.
