Legends speak of eldritch shadow monsters attacking those who carry light through the dark, while others tell of kindhearted dragons who aid anyone lost in the gloom of night. The stories that are woven around Vilvoor Dragons seem contrary at first, yet both narrations hold truth. Vilvoor Dragons are extremely sensitive to light, having adapted to the night and the dark caves they live in. At the same time, their skin cannot endure exposure to the sun. Vast innate fear overcomes Vilvoor Dragons at the face of strong illumination, and a desperate attempt to remove the source then drives them onto the offensive. However, when met in complete darkness, Vilvoor Dragons can be their kindhearted self. They happily provide food and shelter for the night to the lost, and the bedding made of their own fur is softer than what many are used to from home.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Two-headed dragons are unique enough to deserve a separate classification from ordinary dragons. They have two necks, two brains, two mouths, but one stomach and one main body. The two heads usually work together, but there are times when they will fight each other, snapping back and forth. Their unique anatomy prevents them from breeding with single-headed dragons.
