Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

An egg was found by Vaileen during one of her solitary flights. It smelled rotten, but she could still sense that there was life within. She wanted to save it, though her instincts told her to leave it. The hatchling was born dead. Clan-Leader Sorrin told her to burry it, but she couldn't bring herself to do it. She hid the corpse, and mourned the lost hatchling. It wasn't until some days passed that she discovered that it was not dead at all. It was simply more active at night. Vaileen raised the hatchling in secret, and named her Valdieria. Years passed by. Finally, overcome by a hunger that she could not control, Valdieria bit an egg. Vaileen could no longer keep her a secret. She was no longer a baby, and had done a terrible crime- killing an egg. Sorrin ordered Valdieria to be banished, and the egg to be smashed. Angry and scorned, Valdieria returned to Valley Clan one night, and stole back the egg. She has decided to start her own Clan, where she and her children will be accepted
