Shimmer-scale Dragons are a very beautiful breed with small—but highly reflective—scales that shimmer and shine as the dragon moves through water. They don’t have fins or webbed feet, but their long, eel-like bodies allow them to swim quite fast. They were once rumored to carry large pearls in their claws—causing many to seek them out in search of this fabulous treasure. In reality, the “pearl” is of greater value to the dragon, for the fabled treasure is actually an egg carried by a migrating female.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

A more beautiful creature could not be found in all that country, or in many lands that surrounded it. A dragon that shone in the morning sun, gave off a light sweeter than the moon at night, and made every motion an act of grace and artistry. Yet he found that true beauty lay not in his own appearance, but in art, and as such he never bragged about the former. As dedicated to his craft as his father, he creates works of utter wonder, working together petals, gems, paint and fine metals into intricate marvels that interplay with the sun. While most of these creations are made within the comfort of his studio, lately he's taken to wandering outside, trying to find new ways to work with the soft light of dawn--and finding instead, much to his mortification, that there are many females interested in him! Exceedingly shy when he's not talking about artwork, he usually ends these encounters by slipping into the nearest waterway and swimming away at high speed.
