Spinel Wyverns are small, sleek dragons that zealously collect spinel gemstones to line their nests. They are very affectionate with those they bond with, and will happily spend hours grooming a dragon of a different species if allowed to. Spinels are well-known for their even temperament, but when offended, they are very slow to forgive and will never forget. These wyverns will readily perform tasks in exchange for spinels, and occasionally other stones. Occasionally, they can be born with iridescent pale green scales instead of the usual rich red-violet.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Rose is a very gaudy, vain Spinel. He takes great pride in fashioning his lustrous pink scales, shining them daily. He's a chatty type. Aside from his own looks, Rose's favorite thing in the world is some good gossip. He has an innate need to know everything he possibly can about everyone. For this reason, he is an essential asset to his mate and master thief, Blacknight. Typically, whenever they run a scam, Rose will collect all the info on everyone in a given area before reporting it to Blacknight. In exchange for his help, Blacknight showers him in all the gemstones he could ever want. Though this is more of a business partnership, Rose and Blacknight do share some romantic feelings for one another; they are mates after all. Though it isn't often seen, they will occasionally snuggle up together and are always willing to protect each other. While he is a con artist like Blacknight, Rose does not believe in hurting others and will usually convince Blacknight not to be violent.
