Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s very festively colored.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

All dragons, when they hatch, get a first name and a last name. When they mature, they gain another name- consisting of three letters. It goes before all other names. When a mating pair have a child, the child gains the father's three letter name. This is mostly used to distinguish related dragons and help prevent inbreeding. Many times, when two dragons breed, their first names and last names are combined (a first name from one parent, and a last name from the other), most times the exact same names but sometimes it can be a synonym.
