Skywing Dragons spend most of their lives flying in the air. They hunt from the air, diving at prey from above, and land only to rest. They are some of the fastest fliers, capable of extremely high speeds. The webbing at the end of the tail acts as a rudder, allowing them to easily change direction during flight.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Tawkami of the Wind prizes flying above all else. Although she is a full warrior of the Firewind dragon clan, her first allegiance is to the sky. To her, it is a place of beauty, freedom, and above all, expression. Tawkami truly believes that flying is an art, and strives to perfect it in any way she can. As a result, she is an excellent flier, one of the best of her breed. She's used this to her advantage multiple times on the battlefield, and Tawkami is unafraid of learning from other winged creatures. Some of her best battle-oriented flight patterns were inspired by the movements of swallows and birds of prey. She can also "read" the way a dragon flies, and can tell if that dragon is healthy or injured, confident or intimidated. Her art, deadly while at the same time breathtakingly beautiful, makes her one of the Firewind's most proficient warriors.
