Speckle-Throated Dragons are an active, playful breed. They are easily excited and rarely remain still, spending much of their time in the air. Living in groups of up to sixty dragons, they nest in open plains and at the bases of mountains. Their speckled throats are their most distinctive feature, as well as the loud, echoing call they produce to communicate with one another. Female Speckle-Throats are slightly smaller than males and lack a head crest. However, they are swifter and more agile and prefer to hunt in small groups in order to take down prey.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Ama (her most popular nickname) is the zen member of the family. While her siblings and parents are much more jumpy and overactive, Ama always maintains a sense of calmness, serenity, and peace. She'll spend most of her hours meditating deep in the dark woods they live near, letting her spiritual self thrive. However, do not mistake her for an easy fight, for Ama is an incredibly skilled warrior. She puts herself through intense physical training, allowing her to overpower her opponent in ways other Speckle-Throated Dragons wouldn't even think of. She actually tends to rely on her physical strength in battle, wrestling opponents head-on and turning their own strength against them. However, she doesn't discredit the abilities her breed is known for and will resort to the traditional fighting style of her breed whenever it is necessary. She refuses to kill, neither her enemies nor her prey. She is a vegetarian, getting her necessary protein from foods like beans, nuts, and milk.
