Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Vermillion is the lead dragon of the upcoming group of Black Dragons within the clan that resides here. She is the sleekest, darkest dragon out there with shining diamonds and other assorted gems magically embedded under her wings so that she can blend into the night sky or awe the others. She also is currently striving to become the full leader of all the dragons. Vermillion does not allow other female Black Dragons in her group, and if there happens to be one, she uses a spell to freeze it from aging. There is one exception however; if her own child is female, she will not freeze it. She will merely cast them to the lowest rank in her clan of dragons and assign one guard to them to make sure they do not get out of line. She also does have quite the knowledge of magic using. This power of hers makes up for the fact she is not the biggest Black Dragon, and is actually rather smaller than the normal female. Vermillion is definitely not afraid to use it on others who annoy or anger her.
