Daydream Dragons are the hosts of daydreams and fantasies. They spend the majority of their time sitting on clouds, dropping daydreams down into the minds of people passing by. Humans who live near Daydream Dragons must be especially careful not to let their thoughts wander, or they could end up spending hours or even days in a trance-like waking dream state.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

An egg sat alone in the Abandoned Cave again.  This was the one of many times that the Daydream egg had been picked-up and re-abandoned. The egg felt like no one loved it or even cared.

Someone did.  A Dragon Tamer named Pokchu noticed the egg, and also noticed how the egg was unwanted and rejected.  Pokchu was a great lover of all creatures and couldn't bear to see the egg rejected so and so she made a promise that if it got picked up and then put down again, she would grab it.  When the egg reappeared, Pokchu snatched up the egg, and tenderly brought him to her cave.

The egg sensed that it had found a home, and listened to the gentle vibrations of Pokchu's whispers: "Yakusoku, my little promise."
