Guardian Dragons have large shields on the end of their tails. Although the shields appear to be heavy, they are light, yet nearly unbreakable. Guardian Dragons use their tail-shields, as well as their wings, to deflect attacks and protect others. Often, they will guard the eggs and hatchlings of a nest while others are away. They are generally peaceful, and will not retaliate unless necessary. They have no need to forage or hunt, as they are fed by those they protect.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

It hasn't been long until Qumazi has found a creature that would always need his protection—a frozen Sunrise dragon female hatchling, named Faxyha. The little one has parents, but they can't be with her forever and she is rather active and curious, always wandering into the woods. Qumazi decided to guard her ever since she was so little she didn't have wings and almost fell off a cliff, because she tried to stretch her neck at the edge, to see more of the view in the distance. Luckily, Qumazi has readied his tail for Faxyha and the little one only fell a few feet or so.

Normally Qumazi isn't so eager to help silly dragons, that only bring miseries on themselves, but he felt that Faxyha was special and never let her out of his sight again. Though she does irritate the calm and rational Guardian dragon.
