Terrae Dragons are primarily herbivores who prefer to eat from the tops of trees. However, due to their massive size, they must rely on small, specialized scales to absorb and convert energy from the sun. Since they live in tightly-knit groups, this form of energy absorption helps preserve the forests in which these dragons reside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Behold, seeker of the dragon lore, Nillemis of the Terrae dragons. When he grew up, he left his parents' group to find a female for himself and form a new group with her. He must have wandered a long way because it is unknown where exactly he came from. He arrived in the forest he now resides in after the end of the Spring storms, and ever since the forest has been greener and healthier than ever before. The people living around the forest believe that Nillemis must be the personification of some benign forest deity as the forest has been giving them richer fruit, nuts, mushrooms and fire wood since he has appeared. They believe it is lucky catch a glimpse of him and regularly offer him gifts of gratitude on a certain slate of rock deep in the forest. These consist of vegetables and fruit, and often a bowl of sweet berry wine which Nillemis seems to enjoy a lot.
