Sunset Dragons are closely related to sunrise dragons. However, their behaviors differ greatly. Sunset Dragons generally live alone or in small packs. They are more active in the evening, hunting and performing all of their daily tasks as the sun sets.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Sayo Odorite's name roughly translates to "evening dancer," and is a reference to her music and draconic dancing.  She is closely bonded to her mate, Nishiakari Yuushi, generally shunning the company of any others but her immediate group.  The sunset dragons occupy a small strip of forest creeping up to the beachline which is favored as a resort area by humans.  It is said that they chose this spot because Sayo heard the music in passing and demanded that they settle there.  She and Yuushi engage in spectacular aerial "dances" when the sun is low on the water, and it is said that they are worshipped by the locals as nocturnal dieties.
