Ice Dragons are fierce predators who hunt using their extremely cold breath. The breath of an ice dragon can freeze its prey solid in seconds. The body of an ice dragon is so cold that icicles will form along its skin no matter the outside temperature.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Glacial Iceshard was brought up with the training to summon an ancient dragon known as the Guardian Of Nature. The Isle Of Herandor was in grave danger, and only this dragon could save them. Glacial Iceshard (Shard for short) set off to the three peaks to meet a Magma and Thunder Dragon. Their first summon had been unsuccessful, and Shard was too embarrassed to return to Herandor, afraid that everyone would be disappointed in him, so instead, he stayed at the peaks for one-hundred years, waiting for the other two dragons to return. They succeeded, but when Shard returned and saved the island, he was still faced with guilt, as his father had been killed during the one-hundred years he had hidden away.
