Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Blodhunfyrna comes from two words in the Ancient Language of Alagasia. The words are bldh, meaning blood, and fyrn, meaning war. All together, that's Blood and War. Blodhunfyrna is a bloodthirsty warrior and a sadist. She's very selfish and greedy.  She was hatched under the banner of war, and was abandoned on a battle field severely wounded, left by her comrades for the gore crows. Luckily for her, Pugglemuggle found her and brought her back to the cave. After intense medical care, she was nursed back to her previous health. She's still kind of a jerk, but better than she would be if she had stayed with her previous owner.
