Sunset Dragons are closely related to sunrise dragons. However, their behaviors differ greatly. Sunset Dragons generally live alone or in small packs. They are more active in the evening, hunting and performing all of their daily tasks as the sun sets.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Kerryn goes wherever the wind takes her, yet is still that dragon that works until perfection. Kerryn's closest human equivalent would be that annoying friend who needs everything perfect. When her sunrise dragon daughter, Brianne, was mature (but still a hatching) she stopped raising her and returned to her sunset luxury. Her and Brianne have never seen much of each other since. She ignores Guardian and becomes offended when anyone states the fact that he is Brianne's father and her previous mate. She regrets flying up that high and meeting him, she even told Warrior that she can have him (unknown to Guardian, though)! To her, her past was like any other dragon's, boring and dull. She hated being put on display for views, the thought of it angers her to this day. While she remains a gossipy, fun, friendly dragon all her childhood friends she no longer knows or sees. Now Kerryn likes to hang out with the fun dragons (like Ritoru Yami) and avoids the shy ones (like Cotton Daisy).
